If you cannot print in color in an Excel spreadsheet, continue reading reading below to quick fix the problem.
Recently, one of my clients called me to report that he is unable to print in color in Microsoft Excel. After investigating the problem, I found that the printer settings are correct and the issue of no color printing occurs only in a specific Excel spreadsheet and not in every Excel document.
When this happens, the cause is the spreadsheet’s print settings in ‘Page Setup’ options and is not an Excel or printer problem.
How to FIX: Unable to Print in Color in Microsoft Excel.
1. Open the Page Setup options, using one of the following ways:
A. From File menu, select Print and then click Page Setup.
B. In the worksheet that you want to print in color, select the Page Layout tab and at the right of Page Setup click the bottom right button.
2. In ‘Page Setup’ options, select the Sheet tab and uncheck the Black and white option. Then, click OK and try to print again.
* Info: If ‘Black and white’ is checked, the printer will print only in Grayscale and not in color.
3. Now, normally your Excel spreadsheet will print in color. *
* Note: If the problem persists, open the printer’s preferences and ensure that the Color printing is enabled. To do that:
1. From File menu, select Print and open the Printer Properties of your printer.
2. Find the Print Quality and Color settings and ensure that the Quality is set to Standard and the Color option is checked.
That’s all folks! Did it work for you?
