Method 1. Install the Latest Windows App SDK.
The first method to fix the mentioned problems while installing/uninstalling Microsoft Store apps, is to install the Windows App SDK 1.6.3 version, because there was an issue in the 1.6.2 release which affects Windows 10 machines.
1. Navigate to the link below and download the latest Windows App SDK x64 stable installer (1.6.3)
2. Then double-click on the downloaded file to install the latest Windows App SDK.*
* Note If the installer fails the first time, try again.
3. Restart your PC and then you’ll install or uninstall Microsoft Store apps without any problem.
Method 2. Uninstall KB5046613 Update.
Another method to fix the mentioned issue, is to uninstall the KB5046613 Update.
* Note: This method doesn’t work in all cases, because some users reported that after uninstalling the KB5046613 update the problem was fixed, while others didn’t.
1. Navigate to Start > Settings > Windows Update and click View update history.
2. Now check if KB5046613 has been installed recently and, if so, click Uninstall updates.
3. Finally, select the KB5046613 and click Uninstall. Then click Yes to remove the update.
4. When the uninstallation completes, click Restart Now to restart your PC.
5. After the restart, check if the problem is still there and if so, continue to the next method.
* Note: if the problem is resolved and you can install and uninstall Microsoft Store apps, download & run the Microsoft’s Show/Hide Updates Troubleshooter, select Hide Updates and then select the KB5046613 to prevent Windows to reinstall it.
Method 3. Upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11.
The final method to fix the mentioned problem is to upgrade your system to Windows 11, because this issue does not affect the Windows 11 operating system.
