How Disable Chrome Efficiency Mode.
To disable the Efficiency Mode in Google Chrome:
1. Close Chrome.
2. Then, press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open Task Manager.
3. In Task Manager, right-click on Chrome and choose End Task.
3. Now, right-click on Google Chrome shortcut and click Properties.
4. In the Target field, at the end (after Chrome.exe”), type a space and then copy paste the following command:*

–disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess
* Note: The “Target filed should look like this after typing the above command:

“C:Program FilesGoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe” –disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess
5. When done, click OK and then click Continue to provide administrator permission to change the setting.
6. That’s it! Now open Chrome from its modified shortcut and you will see that Chrome will now run with efficiency mode disabled.*
* Note: To re-enable efficiency mode in Google Chrome, follow the same steps above and simply delete the command you added in the “Target” field of the Chrome shortcut.
How to Disable Edge Efficiency Mode.
To turn off the Efficiency Mode in Microsoft Edge:
1. Close Microsoft Edge and then press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open Task Manager.
2. In Task Manager, right-click on Chrome and choose End Task.
3. Now, right-click on Microsoft Edge shortcut and click Properties.
5. In the Target field, after msedge.exe”, type a space and then copy and paste the following command:*

–disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess
* Note: The “Target filed should look like this after typing the above command:

“C:Program Files (x86)MicrosoftEdgeApplicationmsedge.exe” –disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess
6. When done, click OK and then click Continue to apply the change with administrator permissions.
7. Now open Microsoft Edge from its modified shortcut to run it with efficiency mode disabled.*
* Note: To re-enable efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge, simply delete the command you added to the ‘Target’ field of the Edge shortcut.
How to Disable Firefox Efficiency Mode.
To turn off the Efficiency Mode in Mozilla Firefox:
1. Open Firefox, type “about:config” in the address bar and hit Enter.
2. Click Accept the Risk and Continue.
3. In the Search bar, copy-paste the following:

dom.ipc.processPriorityManager.backgroundUsesEcoQoS
icon to set the “ProcessPriorityManager” value from “true” to “false” to disable the Efficiency Mode.*

true: Efficiency mode = Enabled

false: Efficiency mode = Disabled
5. Then restart Firefox to apply the change. *
* Note: To re-enable the efficiency mode in Firefox, perform the above steps to set the “ProcessPriorityManager” from “false” to “true” and restart your browser.
