VPN is wise for using public torrents, especially if you decide to seed for some time. Even if you dont seed, cops got a modded version of torrent application to hunt users with certain IP and leech a full copy of the content just from one user, now they’ve got a case to get you indicted.

Who said VPN or TOR is for criminals. Its just a layer of security/anonymity & criminals use multi-layers of it, chained proxies, compromised RDP & public or hacked wifi or mobile phone internet (the logs are deleted faster & you get dynamic ip)…
